Spending time with the community to absorb their wisdom is an excellent means of broadening one’s perspective. In addition to fostering social connections, we frequently discover novel approaches to tasks often overlooked by city migrants like us. Over a span of more than 15 years, starting with our initial foray into the village through the purchase of our first land before embarking in our social enterprise, the local residents have played a pivotal role in both advancing our business network and friendship.
Among Indonesians, it’s quite customary that when you visit someone’s home, the host will generously offer their guests snacks, beverages, and sometimes even lunch or dinner. Amidst in simplicity, the warm welcome can turn modest meals into delicious ones, creating a relaxed atmosphere for discussing what truly matters to the village: digital integration, knowledge sharing, and business development – all aimed at enhancing the livelihoods of us villagers.
